RULES OF THE HUNT
The Annual CBRM Scavenger Hunt is a FREE week-long, city-wide adventure across the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Teams will explore local landmarks, hidden gems, and partner businesses by solving clues, scanning QR codes, and completing challenges to earn points and win prizes. Most points wins!
CBRM ANNUAL SCAVENGER HUNT
The Cape Breton Life Scavenger Hunt is a week-long adventure across Cape Breton Island. Teams will explore local landmarks, hidden gems, and partner businesses while solving clues and scanning QR codes to earn points.

Entry Requirements:
Teams must register with a team name and a valid email address.
Prize Limit:
Only one prize per team.
Prize Claim:
All prizes must be claimed within 14 days of the winner announcement.

Sponsor Prize Draws
• Teams that complete 10 or more stops will be entered into special sponsor prize draws.
How the Game Works
Teams will travel across the island searching for hidden QR codes at various locations.
• Use the provided map and clues to locate each stop.
• Search within the highlighted area for the QR code.
• Scan the code and log your find online.
• Continue to the next location to earn more points.
The team with the highest total points at the end of the event wins.
Points System
Per Team
• QR Code Scan: +10 points
• Bonus Selfie at Location: +5 points
• Bonus Selfie Wearing Cape Breton Life Gear: +10 points
• Completing All 20 Stops: +20 point completion bonus
Special Event Day
Day 3 of the hunt features DOUBLE POINTS on all QR scans.

• Charged Cell Phone
• Internet Access (to log finds)
• Hunt Map & Clues
• Notepad and Pen (optional but helpful)
Winners
At the end of the hunt:
• Scores will be calculated from all logged submissions.
• Winning teams will be announced live on Facebook.
• Results will also be posted on CapeBretonLife.ca
Tie Breaker Rules
If teams finish with the same score:
• The team that completed the most stops wins.
• If still tied, the team with the earliest submission timestamp wins.
• If still tied, a random draw will determine the winner.
Cheating & Fair Play
The Cape Breton Life Scavenger Hunt is designed to get people outside exploring the island and having fun.
The following actions may result in disqualification:
• Sharing answers or clues with other teams
• Distributing QR code links or posting locations online
• Submitting multiple entries under different teams
• Moving, removing, covering, or tampering with QR codes
• Logging finds without your full team present
Teams must stay together while logging finds.
Play fair, respect other players, and keep the hunt enjoyable for everyone.

By participating in the Cape Breton Life Scavenger Hunt, participants acknowledge they are doing so at their own risk.
Cape Breton Life and event organizers are not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during participation.
